DPM clients can directly access the API. This allows you to retrieve both query and system metrics, as well as perform other tasks such as tagging hosts, sending custom events, and manipulating alerts.

To begin, you will need to create an API token. We do not recommend using an agent token. Most of the time you will also need a host’s ID; you can fetch that data here.
